The Rigonneries garden

The Rigonneries garden in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez in Vendée is a place created from scratch by a passionate couple.

The Rigonneries garden is a green space nestled on the edge of the city, in the middle of the marshes more precisely.

The adventure of the creators of this garden began in 1992, on sandy land with an area of 13,000 m2.

The genesis of the Rigonneries garden began with the help of a landscape architect. Our two gardeners therefore started planting by following a precise plan, creating hedges, drawing paths, planting trees. The work carried out allows the garden to emerge from the ground in concrete terms, with the addition of pergolas and the creation of flower beds.

It was in complete autonomy that they continued the effort in the years that followed. Over time, the Rigonneries garden has seen its appearance enhanced with a rose garden and different varieties of flowers. In 2001, he saw a body of water being dug, bringing a new dimension to this original garden.

Photographing this garden was a way of hunting down the aesthetic and landscape peculiarities of this park. The whole is a successful marriage of several atmospheres that bring a change of scenery and serenity just a stone’s throw from the ocean.
